Super Mario Bunneh

a nintendo fangirl

For some reason, I don’t remember ever playing Metroid growing up, but I know a lot of people who love the game franchise. With Nintendo Online on the Switch, there’s a decent collection of classic games available to play that I don’t have to go seek out and pay for, so I figured I’d give it a try.

I did try it once several months ago, and I was confused and lost and frustrated, but I also had someone trying to give me directions who clearly did not remember things quite right and ended up leading me astray. This time, I charged in on my own.

I haven’t used Nintendo Online more than a handful of times, and didn’t realize the “SP” versions of the games start you out with boosts/lives/further along in the game/whatnot. It was just the first version of Metroid I saw when I logged in, so I launched into it.

Saying that it did not go well is an understatement. I recommend watching this video with the captions on, because YouTube – bless its automated heart – really tries hard to figure out what I’m saying, and we should really give it some props for trying.

So… what should I try next?
